Steps to Configure PPP/Remote Access for an Internet Connection
NOTE: In early release of MacOS 8, PPP is used. In OS 9 and later versions of OS 8, Remote Access is used instead of
PPP
1.) Select PPP from the Control Panels.
2.) Enter your username, password and dial-up number (462-5550) in the
appropriate boxes. You may choose to
save your password.

3.) Select the Options... button at the bottom of PPP dialog box and verify settings
on each tab



4.) Select TCP/IP from the PPP menu.
5.) Under the Connect via button select:PPP
6.) Under Configure select: using PPP server
7.) Enter the Name Server address(es) of the server to which you are connecting.
The name server addresses are:
IP Address
64.6.11.33
64.6.11.17
8.) Under Search domains enter abingdon.net, the server name to
which
you are connecting.
NOTE: The IP addresses used in the image below in the "Name server addr" box may no longer be valid. Use 64.6.11.33 and 64.6.11.17 instead.
